"The Special Set of Flowers"
For my Winter Art Show I wanted to make something out of the box, something that was creative and fun to make but at the same time have a meaning to it. So I decided to paint a special flower for each of the items I made to describe one of my family members. The reason I decided to do something like that is because while I was searching the web looking for ideas on what to do, I started thinking about how a kitchen set such as a teapot, tea cups, a bowl, and plate all work best when their together and sometimes need the other thing to do its job, just like a family. Then, I thought about it and while making the flowers for the pieces I put a specific flower on whatever piece I thought represented my family member the most and how they depend on each other. So for my mom I made her the plate and for my dad I made him the bowl representing them both being able to be by themselves but at the same time compliment and work together well when they're together. For my brother and my sister I made them the tea cups, one being bigger than the other representing a younger and older sibling. Lastly, I made myself a teapot which pours things into the teacups which is me basically teaching or helping my younger siblings out in life.
Now for the flower part of my Art Show I decided on what flower I should make on each family member based on their character traits and how they show love in the family. For my mom I did a lily flower, my dad a gladiolus flower, my brother a sunflower, my sister a daisy, and lastly me a carnation flower. A lily flower is pure beauty, sweet, and devotion. Also in Greek times lilies associated with rebirth and motherhood perfectly describing my mother. A gladiolus flower represents strength in character, faithfulness, and moral integrity, all things I hope to achieve in my adulthood just like him. A sunflower representing his happiness, energy, and good fortune for the future. A daisy symbolizing childbirth, love, and beauty. Lastly a carnation flower representing love, captivation, and love.
In conclusion, the thing I would like my viewers to take away from this is that your family is your family and that there are many creative and fun ways to explain or express your family.
